But.

But.

Depending on whether or not I'm able to find a piece of ribbon and a couple of tiny feathers by tomorrow, this will either end up in a shadowbox, or a lovely wood frame that I've been saving for something perfect.

(This one is important.)

Unheated.

Unheated.

A rarity: I'm satisfied with this. I was worried about losing steam as the deadlines approach, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

This one means a lot.

(The background is more grey than purple.. it was really hard to colour-correct it.)

Seacoast Redefined purchase info.

I almost forgot to post this here, oops. I dropped my things off at the gallery today, and got the okay to let you guys know that you can email them if you happen to want to give a home to one of the pieces. Click here for all of the pieces/info and please don't hesitate to email me if you have questions - cassywarren@gmail.com.

This was the last one, finished last night:

For whatever we lose.
For whatever we lose.

I'm excited for this show. It's a big group effort so that means there isn't a whole lot of pressure on my end. A piece was scrapped halfway through completion due to suckage (it was a mermaid), but I still managed to get everything done. One deadline out of the way, 4 to go. It's July already and summer is flying by so quickly, I've been so busy with projects, but you know.. I can't say I mind.

You are the waves, I am the ocean.

So.. it's 3:50am and I wanted to go to bed three hours ago, but then I got excited about finishing this piece. It's for the Seacoast Redefined show. The actual is nicer than the scan. This was done on the inside back cover of a book that one of my roommates gave me (to destroy for the sake of making art, it's dated 1926!). The words/title is from a quote by Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

You are the waves, I am the ocean.

"I am you; you are me. You are the waves; I am the ocean. Know this and be free, be divine."

This has nothing to do with you, of course, nor me.

And below is how I title pieces done on book pages. I can't decide if I'm doing something wrong by titling in this manner - I'm using someone else's words. Whichever are on the reverse side of the page that seem to fit best with the drawing, or how I felt while creating it (haha, how ~deep~). This is the first time I've ever changed my mind about a title though, as you can see I crossed out the first one, and decided I didn't like how it tied into the drawing. The second choice is much better.
